Product Description

KABIR makes versatile Electromagnetic Flow Meters, ideal for conductive liquids such as raw water, chilled water, effluents, potable water, etc. Using the time-proven electromagnetic flow metering principle, the meter is suitable for pipes ranging from 15 mm to 600 mm. Since there are no moving parts, the flow meter provides years of maintenance-free service.

Features & Construction:

  • Flow-head: Can be supplied in PTFE lining or hard rubber lining.

  • Field-mounted water metering equipment features:

    • Weather-proof enclosure

    • Communication options

    • RTC with data logging and printer option

    • 420 mA isolated flow signal transmission for flow pattern recording

  • Converter: Available as field-mounted with IP65 protection category.

  • Optional GSM modem interface can be supplied as an add-on feature.

Operating Principle:
The principle of magnetic flow meters is based on Faradays Law of Electromagnetic Induction, which states:

"A voltage will be induced in a conductor moving through a magnetic field."

Formula:

E=kBDVE = kBDV

Where:

  • E = Induced voltage

  • B = Strength of the magnetic field

  • D = Conductor width

  • V = Velocity of the conductor

The magnitude of the induced voltage E is directly proportional to the velocity of the conductor V, the conductor width D, and the strength of the magnetic field B. The liquid acts as a conductor as it flows through the pipes.

Advantages:

  • Zero pressure drop

  • No moving parts

  • High accuracy at affordable cost

Applications:

  • Effluent Treatment Plants

  • Sewage Treatment Plants

  • Water Supply Schemes

  • Pulp and Paper Industry

  • Sugar Industries and Distilleries

  • Steel and Aluminium Industry

  • Chemical / Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Food and Beverage Industry

Special Capabilities:

  • Tolerates high percentage of suspended solids: Sludge, slurries, minerals, paper, sewage flows with high levels of solids which cannot be measured by other types of meters.

  • Obstruction-less measurement: Nothing projects into the flow stream, ensuring no head loss and no parts to maintain.

  • Suitable for corrosive liquids: Acids, caustic, and corrosive additives are isolated from the meter pipe by inert linings and compatible electrodes.

  • Applicable to all electrically conductive liquids: Suitable where conductivity is sufficient to induce measurable voltage.
